Today Microsoft released a new Windows 10 build 17017 for fast and skip ahead insider members. However, insiders are now reporting an error with the update showing “An update is being prepared for your device….” message.
Now, the company has acknowledged the problem and posted that users may also see the errors c1900401 or 80240034.
According to the Windows Insider Team, the packages that were made available for download were missing a component file that is required as part of the update process. Teams are re-creating these packages and will re-deploy these revised packages to the update servers.
In the next 4-6 hours, the updates should become available for those who have been hitting these errors.
