Galaxy S8, S8 Plus receiving Daydream VR support with update G950USQU1AQG4

Verizon has released a new software update G950USQU1AQG4 for Galaxy S8 and update G955USQU1AQG4 for Galaxy S8 Plus smartphone in the US. The update comes with Google Daydream VR support and other fixes.

The update has added a new send animated GIFs. In addition, the update further increase the screen’s real estate of your Galaxy S8 and S8+. Now you can turn off the navigation bar to maximize your screen view. There’s a small circular toggle on the left side of the navigation bar which can be used as a lock/unlock button.

Google Daydream VR for your Galaxy S8

  • Daydream takes you on incredible adventures in virtual reality with Daydream View, an easy-to-wear headset, with a simple to use controller.

Send animated GIFs during phone calls

  • If you have Profile Sharing enabled (a setting in the Contacts app) on your Galaxy S8, you can send animated GIFs during phone calls.

Even more Infinity Screen

  • You can turn off the navigation bar to maximize your screen view. Toggle the small and round lock/unlock button on the left side of the navigation bar.
  • If navigation bar is unlocked, it will hide with a sliding animation. Swipe up to view the navigation bar again.

Software update G950USQU1AQG4 for Galaxy S8 and update G955USQU1AQG4 for Galaxy S8 Plus will gradually release to everyone. You can also check manually for updates, go to Settings > About device > System update. Make sure you have enough charge on your device at least 60% to 70% before downloading the update.
