Dread Dawn update is now rolling out on PC (Steam). According to the official Dread Dawn patch notes, the latest update added quality of life improvements and gameplay optimizations.
Since the last patch, players are facing a number of problems with the game. Today’s Dread Dawn patch will fix a few of these issues.

Dread Dawn Patch Notes – November 28, 2024
- Added “Realistic” difficulty as an option for game difficulty, which is more challenging than the “Hard” difficulty.
- In “Realistic” difficulty, both enemies and zombies have increased attack power, the character’s hunger rate is accelerated, and the dodge probability of speed-type zombies is enhanced.
- You can find the option to adjust the difficulty in the “Options” under “Game” in the menu.
- Survival mode now includes a hint for using “Alt + Mouse Wheel” to zoom, to prevent players from not knowing how to zoom.
- Reduced the size of some item images to increase loading speed and optimize memory usage.
- Adjusted the refresh rate of some boxes to make item refresh more reasonable.
- Added some fire hoses in the northern part of the main city to deal with large groups of zombies and enemies.
- Modified some translations to make the game’s information more accurately conveyed.
- Removed and modified some unnecessary code to optimize the game’s loading speed.
- Fixed a bug in Director Mode where invisible victims being bullied could see you.
- Adjusted the loading order of game resources to speed up loading.
- Resolved an issue where the window could not be displayed in windowed mode on some computers, which was related to the computer environment.
