Check out more details below.
DSX Patch 1.38 Notes – December 5, 2024
APP:
- Controller Disconnect Fix: Resolved an issue where controllers would not disconnect on exit when the option was enabled in settings.
- Startup Stability Improvements: Addressed a rare issue that caused the app to display a completely white screen on startup, rendering it unusable.
- Steam User Info Caching: Steam user data, such as avatar images and Steam IDs, is now cached locally. This ensures the UI to look as expected even if the Steam API encounters connectivity issues.
- UDP Data Display Fix: Resolved an issue where live incoming UDP data was not displayed correctly if the data sent to DSX was improperly formatted.
Achievements:
- Updated Achievement Unlocking Process: Automatic unlocking of achievements via the Steam API now occurs during the app’s startup instead of instantly. To view your unlocked achievements in the Steam Client, please restart DSX.
Action System:
- Use Random Values Feature: Introduced a toggleable Use Random Values option for Turbo. When enabled, the delay and duration values are randomly selected within the specified minimum and maximum limits, offering a more dynamic and varied activation experience.
Audio To Haptics:
- Buffer Reset Enhancement: Implemented automatic buffer resets every 10 seconds to address potential delays or drifts experienced by some users.
DSX Console Companion App:
- Framework Downgrade: The app has been downgraded to .NET 4.7.2, resolving compatibility issues when invoked via the command line.
- Help Command Added: Introduced a Help command to display a list of available commands for easier usage.
- Runtime Dependency: The console will now only function when DSX is actively running.
DualShock™ 4 USB Wireless Adapter | DualShock™ 4 v2:
- New Audio System Support: Added audio system support for DS4 v2 and DS4 dongle when connected via USB.
- Easy Configuration: The audio system can now be configured in the Controllers Page under General Settings → Audio System.
- Flexible Output Options: Users can set the audio output mode to Speaker, Headphones, or both.
- Enhanced Audio Controls: Added options to adjust volume levels for the speaker, left headset channel, right headset channel, and microphone.
Input System:
- Mapping Enhancements: Improved functionality for button, keyboard, and mouse mappings that utilize Turbo or Toggle features.
LED: - Fixed Issue of LED not applying if emulation is set to Native Mode with Send Data to Device toggled OFF, and then turning it ON.
Profiles:
- Profile Name Update Fix: Resolved an issue where profile names would not update if a profile switch action was active.
- Shortcut Profile Switching: Switching a device profile via shortcuts now updates the UI with the new profile when the device is selected.
- Save/Delete Issue Fixed: Addressed a problem where saving or deleting a profile with a name mismatch between the profile and file name caused errors. The profile path is now used to track mismatched profile and file names, with added protection to ensure the user’s file path is not exposed when sharing profiles.
- Improved Import/Duplicate Naming: Importing or duplicating profiles no longer adds a “- Copy” suffix; numbers are now appended to the profile name instead.
Button Mappings Page:
- Joystick-to-Scroll Feature: Added functionality to use a joystick for scrolling, similar to the middle mouse button.
- Joystick-to-Keyboard Mapping: Introduced a new feature allowing joysticks to emulate keyboard input with three modes: WASD, Arrow Keys, and Numpad.
- Improved Joystick Shortcuts: Joystick shortcuts now function as toggles—press the assigned button once to activate and press again to deactivate.
Controllers Page: - Alias Name Crash Fix: Resolved a potential crash that could occur when updating a controller’s alias name.
- DS4 Information Display Fix: Corrected an issue where information for DS4 controllers was not displayed properly.
Haptics/Rumble Page:
- Haptics-to-Rumble Feature: Introducing a new Haptics to Rumble feature, which converts audio played on your PC into vibrations. It includes four modes: Haptics, Games, Movies, and Music. This feature aims to target the upcoming Virtual DualSense functionality, which provides a virtual sound device to enable haptics to be translated into rumble for wireless usage. It’s particularly useful for natively supported games that lack rumble fallback. It can still be used for other things similar to how Audio to Haptics work. (Note: This feature is still under development but already offers an exciting and immersive experience.)
- Haptic Modes Disconnect Fix: Fixed an issue where haptic modes would not stop when the device disconnected.
Installed Games Page:
- Fixed Gameplay Stats Issues: Resolved issues with displaying Last Played, Time Played, and Time Played (last 2 weeks) for Epic Games and third-party Steam games.
- Game Profile Application Fix: Corrected a bug where applying a game profile would fail if no game was selected.
- Critical File Search Issue Fixed: Addressed a potential issue where searching for a required file could result in it not being found, which is essential for detecting installed Steam games.
- Backend Performance Optimization: Improved loading and saving to cache, significantly enhancing performance and reducing memory usage during game searches or stat updates.
- Efficient Game Detection: Implemented a new, performance-focused method to detect if games are running.
- Seamless Game Profile Activation: Game profiles now activate automatically without requiring a visit to the Installed Games Page first.
- New Profile Restoration Option: Added an option to restore the previously used profile after a game is closed. This ensures the last active profile is reapplied when the game is no longer detected as running.
- Added a total games count next to the search bar.
- Introduced a new filter for Steam Third Party games.
- Added a filter to handle duplicates from different platforms (e.g., Epic Games Store and Steam Third Party). If unchecked, games with the same name or executable path will exclude duplicates from the list. (Note: This only affects the displayed game list, not game detection.)
- DSX is now listed among installed games; however, starting it, adjusting its executable path, or assigning a game profile remains disabled.
Mod List Page:
- Image Loading and Caching Fixes: Resolved various issues related to loading and caching images, ensuring smoother performance and reliability.
Profiles Page:
- Rename Profile Fix: Resolved an issue where the Enter key did not work when renaming a profile.
- Improved Deletion/Reset Behavior: Updated the confirmation process for deleting or resetting a profile to display within the same card, replacing the previous popup for a smoother and less intrusive experience.
Virtual Device Page:
- New Virtual Keyboard Settings: Introduced a dedicated section for Virtual Keyboard settings. Users can now configure the repeat speed for keyboard mapping actions when holding a button. Options include:
- Do Not Repeat: No key repetition.
- Slow Repetition: Slower repeat speed.
- Fast Repetition: Faster repeat speed.
- Native Keyboard: Mimics the natural behavior of a physical keyboard.
