Honor 9, V9 and Mate 9 receiving EMUI 8.0 (Android 8.0 Oreo)

Huawei is now rolling out EMUI 8.0 (Android 8.0 Oreo) on Honor 9, V9, Mate 9, and Mate 9 Pro smartphones. Users running B322 of Android Oreo beta program are first to receive the update, beginning December 5. Rest of the users will receive the update after December 7.

However, make sure you have the latest build to be able to receive Oreo OTA. For beta users, you must update to B322 to receive stable Oreo OTA, while non-beta users, you have to upgrade to B190 in case of Honor 9, while B208 in case Honor V9. Mate 9, and Mate 9 Pro is also receiving the software version B334.

EMUI 8.0 comes with new features like Parallel Apps, Auto-fill, Picture-in-Picture, Smart text selection, new design for Quick Settings, and other features are now available for users.

In addition, the update comes with latest Android Security patch with brings fixes for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures discovered in the Android operating system. The firmware update also includes device stability improvements, bug fixes and further improvements for performance.

EMUI 8.0 (Android 8.0 Oreo) update will gradually release to everyone. You can also check manually for updates, go to Settings > About device > System update.

Make sure you have enough charge on your device at least 60% to 70% before downloading the update. The update is currently only available in China.
