The controller not working or connecting issues on PC while playing Street Fighter 6 can be a frustrating issue for gamers. This issue occurs due to a variety of factors, but there are a few things you can do to try to fix it.
Enable Steam Input
The first thing you can try is to enable Steam Input. This will allow Steam to take control of your controller and make sure it is properly configured for Street Fighter 6. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open Steam.
- Click on the Library tab.
- Right-click on Street Fighter 6 and select Properties.
- Click on the Controller tab.
- Select the Enable Steam Input checkbox.
- Click on OK.
Once you have enabled Steam Input, restart Street Fighter 6 and your controller should now be working properly.
Update Your Controller Drivers
If enabling Steam Input does not fix the issue, you may need to update your controller drivers. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the Human Interface Devices category.
- Right-click on your controller and select Update Driver Software.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update your driver.
Once you have updated your driver, restart Street Fighter 6 and your controller should now be working properly.
Configure the Controller
If updating your driver does not fix the issue, you may need to configure your controller. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open Steam.
- Click on Steam in the top left corner of the window.
- Select Settings.
- Click on the Controller tab.
- Click on the General Controller Settings button.
- Click on the Continue button.
- Select the PlayStation Configuration Support checkbox (for a PlayStation controller) or the Xbox Configuration Support checkbox (for an Xbox controller).
- Click on OK.
Once you have configured your controller, restart Street Fighter 6 and your controller should now be working properly.
Remove all Other External USB Devices
Sometimes, external devices can prevent the controller from working or connecting properly. If you are using any other external USB devices, try removing them and see if that fixes the issue.
Try Launching Steam in Big Picture Mode
If the issue persists, try launching Steam in Big Picture Mode. Big Picture Mode provides a controller-focused interface and settings. To launch Steam in Big Picture Mode, follow these steps:
- Open Steam.
- Click on the Big Picture button in the top right corner of the window.
Once you are in Big Picture Mode, try launching Street Fighter 6 and see if the issue is fixed.
