Norland update 17 is now available to download on PC. According to the official Norland patch notes, the latest update 17 addresses some bugs and crashes.
Previously, a major update 17 added new changes, fixes, and gameplay improvements.
Unfortunately, players are still experiencing several issues since the release. Today’s Norland version 17 will fix a few of these issues.

Changes
- Different ground textures for different regions of the map (this will only affect the player’s local map when starting a new game). During manual battles on the global map, the ground texture in the location will depend on the region where the battle occurs.
- Any bleeding will now lead to death (the time until death depends on the severity of the bleeding) if not bandaged; the hemophilia trait will prevent bandaging moderate and severe bleeding.
- Dissatisfied vassals of the player will revolt with a 10% chance if they are weaker than the player and a 25% chance if they are stronger.
Fixes
- Improved rendering of characters for Asian languages. They should no longer overflow from tooltips, and punctuation marks should not be carried over to the next line separately from the text.
- Fixed a bug where prisoners captured by bandits remained in their camp and could be reused when creating new characters, which could lead to issues.
- Fixed a bug where the knowledge “False Fanaticism” did not prevent fanatics (e.g., the Bishop) from hating an agnostic who possessed this knowledge.
- Fixed a bug that occurred when the player demolished a building that was being shot at by enemy archers.
- Fixed a bug that occurred when trying to bribe a peasant for sex if there were no suitable peasants in the city.
- Fixed a bug where the estimated time to the workplace in the warehouse or hall was never calculated.
- Fixed a bug with incorrect inspection color in the lord’s inspection tooltip.
- Fixed the layout of the trade menu with the caravan.
- The tutorial tip about mines will no longer appear for provinces without iron deposits.
- The ambition to increase the number of allies or vassals is now limited by the maximum number of provinces in the game.
- In the city interface, lesser lords will be displayed in the “lords” category, not the “guests” category.
- When a new lord appears, they will no longer inherit mutually exclusive traits from their parents.
Stability
- Fixed a potential crash when loading a save under certain conditions.
