Motorola is now rolling out software update NPNS25.137-24-1-9 for Moto Z Play in the US. The new update includes Android April security patch which fixes vulnerabilities and exposures in the Android OS.
Also, the firmware update includes device stability improvements, bug fixes and further improvements for performance. The Z Play is already running Android Nougat and expected to receive Android 7.1.1 update in the future.

Software Update NPNS25.137-24-1-9 for Moto Z Play in the US is now available as OTA update. The update will gradually roll out to everyone. However, you can also check manually for updates, Go to Settings > About device > System update.
