Microsoft Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3 and Surface Book are now receiving August firmware updates. The new firmware update is released in support of Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which is now released.
This is a second firmware update for Surface Pro 3 tablet in less than two weeks. The last firmware update for the Surface Pro 3 was rolled out on July 22 to fix minor battery issues. However, many owners of the Surface Pro 3 tablet have been reporting about an excessive amount of battery drain. Microsoft acknowledges the issue and working on it.
Surface Pro 3 August firmware update includes:
- Surface Pro UEFI: v3.11.1550.0 improves stability and performance when changing between power states.
- Surface Pen Settings: v12.0.303.1 improves system stability with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
Surface Pro 4 August Firmware update includes:
- Intel(R) Precise Touch Device: v1.1.0.246 improves touch stability when the device resumes operation from sleep or hibernation.
- Surface Integration: v1.0.97.0 optimizes screen brightness when the device resumes operation from sleep or hibernation.
- Surface Integration Service Device: v1.0.115.0 ensures default Balanced power plan is set correctly when the operating system is updated.
- Surface Pen Pairing: v1.0.56.0 improves pen pairing with the device.
Surface book update includes:
- Intel(R) Precise Touch Device: v1.1.0.246 improves touch stability when the device resumes operation from sleep or hibernation.
- Surface DTX: v1.3.422.1 optimizes log file storage space management.
- Surface Integration: v1.1.309.0 optimizes screen brightness when the device resumes operation from sleep or hibernation.
- Surface Integration Service Device: v1.0.115.0 ensures default Balanced power plan is set correctly when the operating system is updated.
- Surface Pen Pairing: v1.0.56.0 improves pen pairing with the device.
