AMD announced new Ryzen chips for ultrathin notebooks

AMD has unveiled new Ryzen mobile processors for 2-in-1s, convertibles, and ultrathin notebook computers. The company claims that its new mobile CPUs are the world’s fastest CPUs for these devices.

According to the company, these new Ryzen mobile processors provide superior performance compared to the previous AMD mobile processor generation, including:

  • Up to three times the CPU performance
  • Up to 2.3X the GPU performance
  • Up to 58 percent less power consumption.

New in Ryzen mobile processors:

  • New Precision Boost 2 technology, which accelerates processor performance in workloads using from one to many CPU cores, which means that core speeds can be adjusted independently and on the fly according to power availability ad thermal constraints
  • Mobile Extended Frequency Range (mXFR), which boosts performance on systems with enhanced cooling solutions on systems certified for “Ultimate XFR Performance”

Samsung Windows Mixed Reality headset images shows up

Samsung is working on Windows Mixed Reality headset. A new set of leaked imaged by WalkingCat shows the company’s upcoming HMD for Windows 10 systems.

The new HMD will likely to feature the same specs as the rest of the Windows Mixed Reality headset. However, it will also come with new built-in AKG headphones. Previously, the company also introduced its own VR solution with Oculus on the Gear VR.

Acer Predator Triton 700 gaming laptop specs and details

Acer has announced the Predator Triton 700 gaming laptop. This is the first laptop in the company’s new line of Predator Triton ultrathin gaming laptops.

The Acer Predator Triton 700 is a slim, aluminum-cased gaming laptop. The laptop is only 18 mm (0.74 inches) thick. The new gaming laptop is powered by seventh-generation Intel Kaby Lake processor, NVIDIA GTX 10-series graphics cards, two PCIe SSDs, and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

However, the laptop display is only 1080p supported. The laptop also comes with a mechanical keyboard with LED-illuminated keys.

Acer has moved the keyboard to the very front of the laptop, moving the trackpad toward the top of the laptop where it’s hidden under a Gorilla Glass panel. This should make it easier to reach the keys for gaming, at the expense of making the mouse more difficult to use.

The Predator Triton 700 is expected to go on sale in August starting at €3,399 ($3,692.84).
