ASUS announced ZenBook Pro 15 with ScreenPad and Intel Core i9

ASUS today announced ZenBook Pro 15 featuring a 15-inch 4K UHD display, up to an Intel Core i9 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics, 16GB of high-performance 2400Hz DDR4 RAM, up to a 1TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD and Windows 10. You can enjoy immersive multimedia on its 15.6-inch 4K UHD NanoEdge PANTONE validated display with 100% Adobe RGB color gamut, ∆E (Delta-E) < 2.0 color accuracy and powerful Harmon Kardon certified audio system.

However, the main feature of the new ZenBook Pro 15 is ScreenPad. It is a Windows Precision Touchpad (PTP) combined with an interactive 5.5-inch FHD touchscreen that can intelligently adapt to what you’re doing, making it easier and quicker to multitask and get things done. A simple press of the F6 function key toggles ScreenPad between touchscreen mode and touchpad mode or you can use Screen Extender mode to use ScreenPad as an extension to the main display. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint offer even closer integration with ScreenPad, with adaptive menus and editing controls on ScreenPad that change automatically according to the app and what task is being performed.

Asus ProArt PQ22UC Ultra HD HDR OLED monitor announced

Asus just announced ProArt PQ22UC, a 21.6″ OLED monitor. The monitor comes with 3840×2160 pixels resolution and HDR supports. The thin-and-light OLED panel weighs in at just 2.2 lbs. The 21.6″ panel packs 204 pixels per inch, with true 10-bit color and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.

The PQ22UC accepts video input over USB Type-C or micro HDMI to minimize the number of dongles you need to pack based on the device you’re bringing. The angled stand provides desktop ergonomics wherever you set up shop, but it detaches and twists flat to easily slip into the included carrying case along with the display and power adapter.

The smaller 15.6” ZenScreen Go is a Full HD display that runs on battery power. It’s capable of connecting to either your laptop or your phone, which means it can do double duty for work and play while you’re traveling. Asus ZenFone 3, 3 Deluxe and ZenPad receiving update with fixes

A new software update 25.40.219.38 for Asus Zenfone 3 and update 14.2020.1711.81 for Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe is now available for download. The Asus Zenpad tablet is also receiving update 14.0410.1711.51. The latest update includes new features, bug fixes, and Android security patch.

The update for Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe (ZS550KL) has fixed an issue where records sometimes went missing in the phone book and also adjusts the PWS Settings UI.

Whereas, the update for Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) brings performance improvements and stability of the camera app. After installing the update, you should also see improvements in system performance.

Finally, the ZenPad (Z301MFL) tablet is now receiving an update which brings stability to the Wi-Fi connectivity as well as includes upgrades for the APN, Gallery app and GMS. The Android November security patch is also available with this update.

ASUS NovaGo world’s first gigabit LTE Windows 10 laptop announced

ASUS today announced world’s first gigabit LTE Windows 10 laptop the NovaGo. The new ASUS NovaGo is a convertible laptop and it comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. That means that it comes with a Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, which offers gigabit LTE speeds.

Microsoft’s Surface Pro also features the Snapdragon X16 modem, but that’s capped at 450Mbps. ASUS says that the NovaGo is the first gigabit LTE laptop.

The device will get up to 22 hours of battery life with active use, or a whopping 30 days of standby. In addition, the convertible ARM-powered PC also includes up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage, with a 13.3-inch 1080p display.

A model with 4GB RAM and 64GB SSD will be available for $599, and you can get one with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD for $799.

Samsung Windows Mixed Reality headset images shows up

Samsung is working on Windows Mixed Reality headset. A new set of leaked imaged by WalkingCat shows the company’s upcoming HMD for Windows 10 systems.

The new HMD will likely to feature the same specs as the rest of the Windows Mixed Reality headset. However, it will also come with new built-in AKG headphones. Previously, the company also introduced its own VR solution with Oculus on the Gear VR.

Last month, Acer and HP rolled out their Windows Mixed Reality Headset Developer Editions. Recently, Dell, ASUS, and Lenovo also introduced their head-mounted displays (HMDs) for the Windows 10.

HP and Dell will begin shipping their HMDs on October 17 with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom update V23.40.97.58 brings ZenUI 4.0

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is now receiving a new update V23.40.97.58. The new update brings ZenUI 4.0 to the smartphone. ZenUI is a custom Android skin for Asus smartphones.

According to the company, the new UI is “lighter, cleaner, and smarter than ever”. ZenUI 4.0 brings us a fresh new look comparing to previous versions of ZenUI.

Asus ZenPad Z10 Software Update 5.4.4 released with Android 7.0 Nougat

Verizon’s Asus ZenPad Z10 is now receiving a new software update version 5.4.4 with Android 7.0 Nougat . In addition, the update also includes Android August security patch fixes Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the open-source Android OS. The tablet was launched at the end of last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Multi-window mode:

Multitasking has never been easier; you can split the screen to view 2 apps at the same time with Multi-window mode. The image below shows the browser open in the top window and the Calendar app in the bottom.

To enable Multi-window mode (Portrait orientation only):

With no apps open:

  1. Tap the Overview (Recent Apps) button.
  2. Press and hold the app you want to use and drag it to the top of your screen.
  3. To use a second app on the bottom screen:
  • Swipe up or down through your recent apps.
  • Tap the app you want to use.

With one app already open:

  1. Press and hold the Overview (Recent Apps) button. Your current app will move to the top half of the screen.
  2. In the bottom window tap the app you want to use. Only apps compatible with multi-window mode will be available.

Quickly switch between apps:

Double tap Overview (Recent Apps) to switch between the current app on your screen and your most recently used app. Double tap Overview again to go back to your original app.

Notification Settings:

Now you can easily change an app’s notification settings right from the notification panel.

To access an app’s notification settings, slide down the notification panel and do one of the following:

  • Tap and hold a notification. The notification settings for that specific app will appear.

OR

  • Slide the notification a little bit left or right, and tap the gear icon. The notification settings for that specific app will appear.

Quick settings you can customize:

Android now supports multiple pages of quick settings in the notification panel. You can add, remove, and re-order them however you like.

To see your quick settings:

  1. Drag down your notification panel from the top of your screen to see 5 quick settings. From here you can swipe left to view additional quick settings.

  1. To see more than 5 quick settings, drag down the notification panel a second time.

To customize your quick settings:

  1. Tap Edit above the quick settings.

  1. Press and hold a quick setting icon and drag it to the desired location. The icon below is being placed in the 3rd position next to Wi-Fi.

  1. To remove it from quick settings, drag the icon down to the lighter gray box at the bottom of the edit screen.

If you want more quick settings than will fit on the first page, swipe left on the quick settings for additional options.

Improved settings navigation:

There’s a new side panel for quick access to Settings, so you don’t need to hit the back key repeatedly. Just swipe left to right, anywhere in Settings.

Data Saver:

Data Saver can help you manage your data usage by restricting background apps from using data.

To turn on Data Saver:

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Tap Data usage.
  3. Tap Data Saver.
  4. Slide or tap On.

You’ve successfully turned on Data Saver.

Even when Data saver is on, you can permit apps to use background data by tapping Unrestricted data access, and the specific app.

Enhanced Doze mode:

Doze mode has been enhanced to optimize your battery anytime your screen is off, even when you’re moving. Previously Doze mode was limited to times when your tablet was stationary.
