Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Images and Specs leaked

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will get official next month at MWC 2018. However, today, Evan Blass posted the official press images of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ alongside the specs to expect.

According to the leaked specs, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will look a lot like their predecessors, including 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED screens with QHD+ resolution. Both upcoming smartphones will get the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC with 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB options. Also, the fingerprint scanner will now appear just below the main camera, vertically.

The Galaxy S9 smartphone will come with a single rear camera set up and Galaxy S9+ will sport dual cameras. The pair will also ship with a “reimagined camera”, both in terms of hardware and software.

In addition, the S9 pair will feature a variable aperture that can mechanically switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4. The standard S9 will get a single-lens 12MP unit while the Galaxy S9+ will get a second 12MP lens. But unlike the primary lens, this one will get fixed aperture. As for the selfie, you get an 8MP sensor on both handsets.

The front also gets stereo speakers, Software-wise, the S9, and S9+ will be powered by Android Oreo out of the box. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ will start shipping on March 16.


Samsung announced it’s flagship Exynos 9810 processor

Today Samsung has officially announced its Exynos 9 series processor. The Exynos 9810 is built on Samsung’s second-generation 10-nm FinFET fabrication process. It comes with custom CPU cores, a faster gigabit LTE modem, and advanced image processing and machine learning capabilities.

The Exynos 9810 is an octa-core processor with four high-performance cores and four energy efficient cores. The four high-performance cores are third generation custom cores that can be clocked up to 2.9 GHz. All of this offers a two-fold increase in single-core performance and 40 percent increase multi-core performance compared to the Exynos 8895.

According to Samsung, the processor can accurately recognize people or items in photos for fast image searching or categorization. It can also scan a user’s face in 3D for hybrid face detection through depth sensing.

The Exynos 9810 also comes with a dedicated image processing unit and upgraded multi-format codec (MFC). This should result in better stabilization for images and video, real-time out-of-focus photography in high resolution, and reduced noise and motion blur for better pictures in low light. The upgraded MFC enables video recording and playback in 4k resolution at 120 fps.

The company is expected to use this processor for its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship smartphones.


Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus image leaked

A new live image of the upcoming Samsungs flagship handsets Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus has been leaked online today. The leaked image shows the back panels of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

It reveals that the Galaxy S9 smartphone will come with a single camera set up at the rear. On the other hand, Galaxy S9+ will sport dual cameras.

Similar to the earlier leaked images, the new photos also show that the brand will be relocating the fingerprint sensor of the next-gen Galaxy devices to below the rear camera.

As per the earlier reports, the Samsung Galaxy S9 duo smartphones will offer the bezel-less Infinity Display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor in the US, and the new Exynos 9810 SoC in other markets. The other highlights will include 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android Oreo.

Samsung is reportedly going to unveil the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ at the Mobile World Congress 2018 in February.


Snapdragon 845 announced, Check out full Specs and Features

Qualcomm has announced its latest Snapdragon 845 flagship chipset. The new Snapdragon 845 packs an octa-core CPU, clocked at up to 2.8 GHz, as well as a new GPU and AI platform, based on the Hexagon 685 DSP. According to the company, there will be an overall “25-percent performance uplift” over the previous generation.

The eight CPU cores also called Kryo 385 will bring better performance. The four cores are based on the Cortex-A75 architecture, while the other four are for efficiency, and based on the Cortex-A55.

The Adreno 630 GPU will handle the graphics department. Qualcomm promises 30% faster graphics and 30% better power efficiency with the new chip. Thanks to a 2.5x faster display throughput, a 2K x 2K display should be able to efficiently run at 120 Hz using the new GPU.

Qualcomm is also touting VR and AR capability right out of the box, including eye tracking, hand tracking, and multiview rendering. The new Hexagon 685 DSP will also work as an AI image coprocessor. This will make voice assistants three times faster than the previous generation. It will support Android 8.1 Oreo’s Neural Networks API for improved always-on keyword detection and super-efficient voice processing.

Qualcomm will start shipping the new chipset to smartphone manufacturers in early 2018. The first flagships with the Snapdragon 845 will be the Xiaomi Mi 7. Samsung Galaxy S9 will also feature this new chipset.
