Rainbow Six Siege update 2.2.1 for PS4 and Xbox One details

Rainbow Six Siege update 2.2.1 for PS4 and Xbox One is coming soon. The update comes with new 1-Step Matchmaking and Interactive Matchmaking. This new 1-Step Matchmaking will bring more stability and faster matchmaking results. This will also bring better performance and faster queue times.

The new update also brings bring fixes and other improvements to the game. Players are able to melee others through Mira’s One Way Mirror. The update include a fix for audio where it does not always trigger properly from Impact grenades. Check out more details below.

1-Step Matchmaking and Interactive Matchmaking

  • 1-Step Matchmaking is a streamlined updated which means more stability, and faster matchmaking results. This is one giant step towards better performance and faster queue times.
  • Interactive Matchmaking allows you the freedom to purchase items from the shop, unlock new operators, and change your loadouts without leaving matchmaking.
  • The developers also introducing a post-match opt-in and opt-out flow so you or your party can choose to re-enter matchmaking to find a new game, return to the main menu, or continue to queue with the current players.

Hitbox Rework

  • Rainbow Six Siege update 2.2.1 for PS4 and Xbox One will bring redesign of the hitboxes for all operators. The new design will make it so the hitbox only includes what you would think of as the human body. This means that baggy clothing, pouches, headgear, bags, accessories, etc. will not be included in the hitbox of all Operators. This change will impact present and future operators, and will allow for a full artistic freedom on character models and customization without a heavy impact on gameplay balancing.

New Post-Match and Pre-Match Squad Flow

  • Once a match has completed, players will be presented with new menu options that allow you to choose when to re-enter the matchmaking flow from the After Action Report (AAR) screen. This also works if you’re in a party. The squad leader can choose when the squad enters matchmaking, re-enters the matchmaking flow from the AAR screen, propose a rematch to the other team, or return to the main menu. From a squad member’s perspective, they will have the option to leave the squad and matchmaking loop.

Keep Playing as Team Option

  • With Rainbow Six Siege update 2.2.1 for PS4 and Xbox One, you will not be immediately re-queued for a match, as the default option will send you back to the main menu screen. At the end of matches, you will have to opt-in to re-queue in matchmaking. However, there will be an option to keep playing with the same team if you just had a really good match.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Narco Road DLC features in detail

Ghost Recon Wildlands Narco Road DLC is now available. The new expansion that sends the Ghosts undercover as mercenaries working for the Santa Blanca. You will also discover a new side of the cartel as the Santa Blanca begin working with various smuggling gangs – Los Kamikazes, the Death Riders, and Los Jinetes Locos – who fight for fame and territory against a rival cartel, Los Sin Almas. Check out more details below.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Narco Road DLC features

DON’T SWEAT YOUR PROGRESS

Narco Road’s campaign is separate from the “main” game. Rather than continuing with your existing character (with whom you can continue exploring the main campaign and taking on weekly challenges), you’ll create a new Ghost who starts out at level 20, with most of his or her skills already leveled up. Be sure to take a look to find out what you can and can’t do, though, because of some familiar skills and perks – the underbarrel grenade launcher, for instance – aren’t available by default. Instead, you’ll unlock them in a slightly different way, by earning and finding medals tied to specific skill types.

In the meantime, you will still be able to play the main campaign missions and complete the weekly live season challenges with your main character without having your progress affected by your advancement in Narco Road.

GO ANYWHERE, RIGHT FROM THE START

Narco Road’s open world is divided into four huge territories, each containing several Bolivian provinces lorded over by a different gang. When you start Narco Road, all of the fast-travel points are available immediately – so if you want to take a break from running jobs for the first gang you encounter, the adrenaline-obsessed Kamikazes, you can hop over to a different territory and ingratiate yourself with, say, the old-school Death Riders biker gang and their flaming-motorbike-riding leader.

INFILTRATE BY IMPRESSING THE GANG

No longer will you sneak into enemy compounds and unfriendly villages to collect Intel. Instead, new story missions open up as you attract gang followers by taking on side activities, tackling brief Electro Challenge stunts scattered throughout the world, and – of course – completing missions. Executing a quick drift or monster-truck jump at marked locations can earn you a small handful of followers, while destroying a Sin Almas coca field with a cropdusting stunt plane (for example) will net you more – especially if you fly it through an aerial stunt marker afterward.

In addition to impressing the local gang lord enough to give you missions, gaining followers will also get you attention from informants, who’ll give you a hand by revealing the locations of hidden weapon cases and skill medals. Don’t hesitate to hit them up when they show up on the map.

EMBRACE SPEED

Veteran Ghosts will notice something immediately different in the Bolivian landscape: a whole lot of colorful new rides, just waiting for you to slide behind the wheel. And once you do, you’ll notice something else: most of them now have nitro boosts, enabling you to hit warp speed on dirt roads and take an airborne route down mountains. When you’re driving monster trucks, this also magnifies your destructive power, letting you obliterate smaller cars (or at least effortlessly slam them out of your way). This new turbo boost is also essential to Narco Road’s new stunt challenges, which you’ll invariably perform better at if you hit them at full speed.

GO SOLO AT YOUR OWN RISK

More so than Ghost Recon Wildlands itself, Narco Road offers a unique challenge for solo players. If you go it alone, you’ll be just that: alone, with no AI-controlled squadmates to watch your back and kiss your boo-boos in battle. You’ll get some help from the Santa Blanca gangs, although they operate more or less like the Rebels in the main campaign: they’ll fight your enemies if they’re nearby, and you can call in special assists through an unlockable menu. If you want someone to follow you around and ride shotgun in your nitro-boosted rides, though, you’ll need to get some actual friends on board to help you.

Narco Road is available now to Season Pass holders on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and will be available for individual purchase on April 25 for $14.99.

Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta coming on February 23

Today, Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta. Ubisoft will launch the Ghost Recon Wildlands Open Beta from February 23, while the game preload will be available from February 21.

This is a good news for those missed out on Closed beta. The Open Beta features all of the same content found in the Closed Beta and more, including an additional province to explore called Montuyoc. Set in the Bolivian Altiplano region, this province contains heavily defended strongholds where the Santa Blanca trains some of its toughest soldiers.

As a special bonus, if you participated in the closed beta or the open beta and start up the retail version of Ghost Recon Wildlands before March 31 on the same Ubisoft account, you’ll also gain access to the special “Unidad Conspiracy” reward, which includes three exclusive missions that features a brewing conflict between the local Unidad military and the Santa Blanca.
