Update 48.1.A.0.116 for Xperia XA1 brings Android 8.0 Oreo

Sony is now rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo with the new software update 48.1.A.0.116 for Xperia XA1. New features like Parallel Apps, Auto-fill, Picture-in-Picture, Smart text selection, new design for Quick Settings, and other features are now available for Sony Xperia XA1 owners.

In addition, the update comes with latest Android Security patch with brings fixes for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures discovered in the Android operating system. The firmware update also includes device stability improvements, bug fixes and further improvements for performance.

New features in Sony Xperia XA1 Update 48.1.A.0.116 brings Android 8.0 Oreo

Predictive Capture (smile) – Predictive Capture automatically starts buffering images when it detects a smile (even before you press the shutter button), allowing you to pick the best from a selection of up to four shots

Autofocus burst – Recognises, tracks and captures sequences of moving objects in sharp focus for blur-free action shots

Improved sound quality – Tuning improvements to the front-facing stereo speakers, and Qualcomm® aptX HD audio support for high-quality sounds when using wireless headphones

App Shortcuts – Re-imagined app shortcuts, which allow easy access to actions menus by long pressing the app icon.

Software update 48.1.A.0.116 for Xperia XA1 smartphone will gradually release to everyone. You can also check manually for updates, go to Settings > About device > System update.

Make sure you have enough charge on your device at least 60% to 70% before downloading the update.
