Vanmoof Error 41: What IS and How to Fix?

What is Vanmoof Error 41?

Vanmoof Error 41 is a common issue that can pop up on your Vanmoof electric bike’s display. This error typically occurs when you press and hold the turbo boost button for an extended period or press it multiple times in quick succession. Another possible cause? Water getting into the button.

Why Does Vanmoof Error 41 Happen?

Understanding the root causes of Vanmoof Error 41 can save you a lot of headaches. The error is generally triggered by one of three things:

  1. Long-pressing the Turbo Boost Button: Holding down the turbo boost button for too long can trigger the error.
  2. Rapid Button Pressing: Pressing the turbo boost button multiple times in a row can also cause the error.
  3. Water Intrusion: If water seeps into the button, you’re likely to encounter this error.

How to Fix Vanmoof Error 41: Step-by-Step Solutions

Fix 1: Firmware Update

First things first, ensure your bike has the latest firmware. You can check this in your Vanmoof app settings. If an update is available, go ahead and install it.

Fix 2: Bike Reset

If a firmware update doesn’t do the trick, try resetting your bike. Press and hold the power button located on the underside of the top tube for two seconds. You’ll see a reset symbol on the Matrix Display. Press any handlebar button to power the bike back on. If your bike is locked, you’ll need to unlock it using one of the three available methods.

Fix 3: System Restart

Still no luck? A system restart might be your next best move. Connect to your bike and navigate to the Vanmoof app > Garage > Help > System restart. During the restart, you’ll hear a boat horn sound, and a boat will appear on the Matrix Display. After the restart, wake up your bike with a reset.

Fix 4: Check the Turbo Boost Button

If all else fails, the button might be stuck. Press and hold the Turbo Boost button while the bike is unlocked and stationary. Observe the power levels on the Matrix Display. If they change, your button is likely working fine.

Fix 5: Consult a Bike Doctor

If you’ve tried all the above steps and the error persists, it’s time to consult a professional. Book a repair appointment at your preferred Vanmoof service location via the Vanmoof app or your My Vanmoof account.
