More details regarding recently discovered new Windows 10 SKUs are now pouring in. According to the new leaks, Windows 10 Pro for Advanced PCs or Windows 10 Pro for Workstation PCs will target high-end multi-core PCs with masses of RAM and petabyte hard drives.
Windows 10 Pro for Advanced PCs will also include ReFS file system as well as faster file sharing. The new ReFS (Resilient File System) is the successor of NTFS. Check out more details below.
Windows 10 Pro for Advanced PCs features
- Workstation Mode: Realize the full benefits of massively multi-core server grade CPUs and high-end PC hardware by engaging in Workstation mode for demanding workloads.
- Resilient File system: The new ReFS (Resilient File System) enhance the resilience, performance, and scalability of Workstation machine. The new server-grade ReFS file system designed for high fault tolerance and handling large data volume.
- Faster file sharing: The SMBDirect protocol based file sharing allows for high throughput, low latency and low CPU utilization when accessing network shares.
- Expanded hardware support: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro for Advanced PCs will include hardware support for up to 4 CPUs, and up to the 6TB memory.
Recently, Microsoft accidentally released build 16212 with the new Windows 10 SKUs which includes Windows 10 Pro for Advanced PCs, Windows 10 Pro N for Advanced PCs and Windows Server 2016 ServerRdsh.
