Tap to Translate Google adds Translation to any app on Android

Google added new feature ‘Tap to Translate’ on Android apps. Tap to Translate is part of Google Translate app, which got updated last night. Tap to translate automatically pop up inside of other apps after you’ve selected text in another language. Microsoft already added the same feature last month to Bing Translator app for android.

Google posted in blog:

You can just copy the text of a chat, comment, song lyric, etc. in whichever app you’re using, and a translation will pop up right there—no need to switch apps.

Google Translate gets few more feature updates like an offline language pack (25MB) for both on iOS and Android.

Google is also adding support for Chinese inside of its Word Lens feature, which now reads both to and from English to Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
