MediaTek announced a new chipset model the Helio P15. The company’s new chipset is a successor of the Helio P10 with minor performance and battery optimizations. According to MediaTek, new chipset will bring 10% performance increase and better power efficiency over the previous generation.
The P15 includes an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 2.2GHz with Dual Core Mali-T860 MP2 GPU at 800MHz. The latest Chipset will use single-channel LPDDR3-933 memory. The Helio P15 chips will be manufactured on the same TSMC 28nm process as the P10. Finally, the new chipset is LTE-capable with a support for LTE Cat.6.
