Twitter has announced that it will now allow anyone to apply for Twitter verified account. Previously Verified status(blue badge icon) was usually reserved for public figures. You can now apply for Twitter verified account by the online application process. But you will not get a verified account unless yours is in of public interest.
Twitter will only verify an account of public interest. This includes accounts of public figures and organizations in music, film, religion, journalism, fashion, TV, media, sports, government, politics, business, and other key interest areas. This new Twitter feature will roll out today for everyone.
Following requirements for Twitter verified account:
- A verified phone number.
- A confirmed email address.
- A bio.
- A profile photo.
- A header photo.
- A birthday (for accounts that are not company, brand, or organization accounts).
- A website.
- Tweets set as public in Tweet privacy settings.
- Profile and account recommendations.
