Microsoft has just announced several new features for Cortana. It will be more integrated into Windows 10, but also on other platforms, Android and iOS. The integration will be improved even within the app providing developers with the tools they need.
Cortana is set to receive new improvements with more voice commands and the ability to activate her from the lock screen. She’ll also intelligently make suggestions during the day whilst using your smartphone or PC, with insights regarding what’s coming up, places nearby and more.
The example shown in the demo on stage showed Marcus pulling out his device, saying “Hey Cortana” to launch the digital assistant, and asking it “How long will it take to get to Sausalito?” Cortana then immediately showed the map from his location to Sausalito, how far away it was, and how long it was going to take to get there by car.
