A new malware on MacOS has been discovered. This malware launch denial-of-service attacks by creating multiple email drafts, which ultimately causes the computer to slow down and become useless.
Once the user visits the malware-infested website on an older version of MacOS, the system gets infected. Another known variant of the malware will open up iTunes. The malware is taking advantage of vulnerabilities found in Safari and the Mail app. This malware is spreading via spam emails which pretend to be from tech support.
However, the latest version of MacOS 10.12.2 is unaffected. The system will automatically block the request to create email drafts. At this point, avoid the emails from a suspicious sender. When it comes to tech support scams like this, do not dial the number provided.
